Banana love


Banana Oatmeal Smoothie
 

2      whole Bananas (best with brown flecks on peel)
2      cups Ice
1/3   cup Yogurt - preferably Greek yogurt flavored with honey
1/2   cup Cooked oatmeal
1/3   cup Almonds

380 Calories. Great for a breakfast or lunch meal




Quick Chocolate Banana Pop Recipe

1   whole Chiquita Banana 
1/2   cup Chocolate Chips 
1/4   cup Crisp rice cereal or crushed nuts (optional) 
2   whole Ice Pop Sticks 
1   sheet Plastic Wrap 
1   sheet Wax Paper
 

Peel the banana, cut it in half width-wise and insert the sticks part way into each banana half. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for about an hour. Put the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them on half power, checking every 10 seconds so they don't burn. Dip the bananas in the melted chocolate till they're coated. Dip in rice cereal or crushed nuts, if you like. Place on wax paper and put in the freezer to set for at least one hour.

Quick Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Milk Recipe

Ingredients:

1   ripe Chiquita Banana, sliced
1% low fat Milk

Place sliced bananas in an individual serving bowl. Top with milk and enjoy.


Variations:
1. Cinnamon bananas-Cut-Up-In-Milk
Sprinkle sliced bananas with cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice before topping with milk.


2. Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Chocolate Milk
Use low fat chocolate milk instead of regular milk.


3. Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Eggnog
Substitute low fat eggnog for the milk.


4. Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Milk with Berries
Add ¼ cup sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or other berries.


5. Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Milk and Honey
Drizzle 1 teaspoon honey over the banana slices before topping with milk.


6. Bananas-Cut-Up-In-Milk with Crunchy Toppings
Sprinkle sliced bananas with ¼ cup crushed graham crackers, crumbled chocolate cream sandwich cookies, granola, chopped nuts or sunflower seeds before topping with milk.

Peel one side of the banana and cut a wedge in the fruit. Pour a few mini marshmallows and chocolate chips in the wedge. Replace the peel and wrap the banana in aluminum foil. Ask an adult to place the banana on the barbecue grill or in the campfire coals for about 5 minutes.
