Binging, it's okay. It happens.

You have been eating cleanly, for sometime now. When your at the mall and you smell some freshly baked cookies or cinnamon rolls, sometimes you just can't help yourself. Maybe one bite? Okay, maybe two, but that's it. It take's a lot of discipline and control not to feel tempted and were only human. What does that mean? Well we all make mistakes, were not perfect. The point is, never lose your will to continue, workout extra hard the next day, but remember to stay on your same calorie intake, you don't want to confuse your body first of all, and secondly, cutting back your calories after a binge, is a classic sign of an eating disorder.

I am not saying you can never have those bad, processed, foods we love. I am just saying you want to do it sparingly. If you did stop eating those foods all together, you would probably go nuts, and overeat. Basically, I don't want you to deprive yourself. If you do have a treat every now and then, you are less likely to binge. Make sense yet? Anyways, I ran across these tips on what to do when you have an unexpected binge. That is the key word, unexpected.

1. Drink plenty of water
If you drink a significant amount of water, you will flush your system and dilute the richness of the food you ate. Also, the more water you drink, the less likely you are to bloat. So keep chugging! This is a great tip, because if there is one thing I hate after a binge, it is bloating!

2. Eat as cleanly as possible
After a binge you may feel sick, and eating clean will help your body recover. You may also think of it as as consequence of eating poorly and try to go for as long as sanely possible without junk! If you make as mess of your diet, your body expects you to clean it up. I agree with the eating cleanly part of this although; I am unsure about thinking of this as a consequence.

3. Don't give up
Just because you slipped up a little doesn't mean you can't get back up! Finish the day strong with healthy meals and a nice workout. WARNING: Make sure you're going on as normal and not over-doing it to compensate for your mistake. Those type of habits are common in eating disorder individuals!

4. Let it go and move forward
Stressing and putting yourself down for making a mistake in your diet is not the way to go. Take it easy, and remember you're human. Mistakes happen all the time, and it's from these mistakes that we learn and grow! So chin up! This step is very inspiring, and they are right never feel guilty, that can lead to overeating.

5. Remember the experience
Think about all that happened. How your body felt, your emotions, etc. Then next time you're having a treat and feel like your gonna go overboard, think about it! Don't make the same mistake twice!

Never feel guilty, and remember your not alone. Never give up! You are never a loser, until you quit trying!
