Tending to your marriage.

Annette & Brad 2006

Well marriage and relationships, just as well as anything worth having, requires hard work and sacrifice. When I was younger and my now husband and I had only started dating. There came a time where everything was so perfect in our relationship; I was silly enough to believe that relationships did not require work. Obviously, I know better now. I am what you would call a newlywed and I won't sit here and say that I know everything there is to know about marriage and how hard it is, but I am learning. I take everything day by day and have said to my husband time and time again that "as long as you continue to fight, I will never quit."

That being said, I came across this article called "Eight keys to a happier marriage" and it was very insightful, easy to read, and to the point. Here are the eight keys. http://zenhabits.net/eight-keys-to-a-happier-marriage/

1. Work on your marriage
2. Don't leave things unsaid
3. Speak plainly
4. Be vulnerable
5. Accept your partner
6. Spend time together
7. Make time for both your ambitions and goals
8. Be clear and assertive

I know some of you may be thinking you do this already, maybe some of you even think that you have been with your partner for so long, and you know them so well, this advice is not needed. But trust me, from someone that thought the same thing once. You don't want to become roommates. I want to always and forever be his partner, and his lover.
