Thousands in the dark

Via: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com

That is the whats been printed on the cover of the Seattle Times today. For literally thousands of people in Washington they may not have power through the weekend, due to this ice storm. I actually find it sad, for lots of these people they are not used to not having power for more than a few hours or even minutes. I grew up in Guam where if the power goes out it could be for hours or even days, and that was a normal occurrence. Sometimes we would not have water, and would have to go to our friends or aunts to take showers. It is amazing the things we take for granted. I sometimes question if we were ever in a real dire situation how would others handle it? Although I understand that a power outage in Guam is significantly different from a power outage in Washington. In Guam we light some candles, play cards, and spend some time together as a family. I honestly don't know what the generation of cell phones, video games, and computers would do without their power cord's and chargers.
